For the Marquee Stars database, the first breakout theatrical weekend gross as expressed in millions. For a platform rollout strategy, for example, the opening weekend gross would be the film's first wide release weekend; not its literal opening weekend. For a foreign film, the opening weekend gross may be drawn from either the film's overseas or US domestic release, whichever performed best.
