Impresario
Hollywood term for an entertainment entrepreneur.
Independent Or Indie Film
Usually a low-budget film that is produced by an unaffiliated production company or small movie studio, or that is not distributed by a major studio-distributor. The term is sometimes used to describe films produced by subsidiaries or satellites of larger studios, such as Sony Pictures Classics or companies with studio output deals, as long as less than half of their budgets come from a major studio. Indie film also may be used to describe a motion picture in terms of its content or style, usually indicating a film in which the personal authorial vision is preserved or in which plot-driven mainstream concerns have been replaced by an artier, edgier or more sophisticated sensibility.
Inflation
The rate at which the general level of prices for goods and services increases and, also, at which purchasing power decreases. Moderate inflation accompanies economic growth. Typically, inflation is triggered when demand for goods is greater than the available supply or when unemployment is low and workers command higher salaries. Central banks in most industrial nations try to keep inflation in check by decreasing the money supply, making it more difficult to borrow and thus slowing expansion.
